Text Box: PROPOSAL PAPER	GLOBAL PEACE VOLUNTEER CAMP 1.15
REGIONAL INDONESIA - MALAYSIA
‘YOUNG PEOPLE MAKING CHANGE’

Global Peace Volunteer (GPV) is a program that provides a platform for undergraduate students to exchange ideas and learn through service towards fostering a culture of service and volunteerism.  Besides, it is also an opportunity to raise young leaders of character, values and virtues.

Our society and world have seen a rise in individualism and decline in service and volunteerism. The culture of selfish-individualism is seriously affecting especially the youths, as they increasingly look after their own individual interests without considering the needs of society or the community. The damaging consequences include a decline of values (such as honesty, tolerance and compassion), racism, and decline in family. GPV encourage students to pursue personal excellence through challenging one’s limitations and using their capacities for the greater good and for others.

GPV Regional Camp, Indonesia – Malaysia is a 4 days training camp that will invite 15 prominent young people from Indonesia and Malaysia to conduct discussion and dialogue, sharing best practice, leadership training, study tour, and service project in local community in order to create direct interaction between participants and local community.

6.0. Closing

The ideals of One Family under God is crucial to be planted in the hearts of young generation to further foster tolerance and create more people with the mindset of a global citizen. Under those hopes, the two days GPV camp wish to be a starting point or even continuation of goodness that will be spread around the local community. Moreover, those involved in the organizing committee would benefit from the experience, having a global-scaled movement on hand, gathering peers and colleagues to work and make the world a better place.
